What has been your average litter size?
And do you think the dam, or the sire, has more influence on the size?

Litter size is determined by the bitch based on the number of ova she releases. There are genetic influences on this as well as nutritional ones.
Males determine the sex of the pups.
I have had one family of Britts produce 13-14 pups in a litter bred only once. I have had a line that would only have no more than 5 pups in every breeding. In some french lines where it is unknown if a dog has double bobtail genes then size can be a small as 3 pups and yet if repeated can be as large as 9. That bobtail gene can be a pesky litter size reducer on occasion.
