Not to the best of my knowledge. I have never had a case of it with any of my Brittanys. My Chihuahua had ear infections every now and then, we just had to make sure that his ears were kept clean. Laura Wilder Touch of Class Ranch

My bitch actually has an ear infection right now, and I was wondering the same thing.

Field Brittanys probably have a higher number of ear infections that those that don't hunt much. In the field, they get get hot and jump in anything that holds water. This water gets in their ears and sits. This can develope into an ear infection. The best thing to do anytime they get into water is clean their ears out with a good cleaner.

5 Brittanys, not a single ear infection ever. 3 of them have spent most of their lives in the field. Like with anything else, I think it just depends on the dog, the environment, food sensitivities, etc.

Supposedly drop eared breeds are very prone to ear infections but I've never known that to be true with my Britts. Although, Tanner does seem to be prone to them as he had them a lot as a puppy & has had them a couple times since.

Of my 6 Brits over the years, they have all had ear infections. Some of them often and my 4 month old already had one. I found out several from the litter did as well, already (I bred the litter). Common in drop earred dogs (which Brits are) and ones in hunting conditions (dirt in ear, getting inside of ears wet, etc). I am more surprised that a lot of you say you haven't experienced this. You are the lucky ones, or should I say your dogs are .

Over all I have one dog that has gotten a bad ear infection 3 times in his 12 years and a a pup or two that have had an isolated problem which was cleared up quickly

Climate and diet are a big factor for ear problems in my opinion. When I lived in Hawaii my dogs had a higher incidence for yeast infection in their ears. Now I live on the high dessert, no fleas, and zero ear issues except for the occasional Cheat grass which I flush ears routinely after a workout in the field.
There are lines of Brittanys that are more allergic and thus have allergy issues with ear conditions.
There are lines of Brittansy that thow more demodex in their dogs than other....all are immune mediated conditions that can be very line specific.
If you have aproblem with yeast in the ears take a look at your diets some of the carbs are to high in sugar for these dogs and you may need to change foods. Some dogs with chronic ear issues maybe getting the wrong veterinary treatments. You would be surprized at how some are treating an ear infection when they should be looking at mites and vice versa.
