The running joke in my family is that I was born in the show ring. I showed my first Brit at 5 years old, and haven't looked back ever since (almost 15 years later...) My first CH that I personally owned was Triumphant's Blu Bayou, out of FC Hi-Proof Rum Runner.. I don't think I was even showing in juniors when he finished. Since then I've finished/pointed many many dogs, and even co-bred my first BIS dog, "Adam." My mom got me off to a great start at a very young age, and I've been fortunate enough to be involved with some truly great dogs. Kristyn McCartney www.triumphantkennels.com

I don't...yet, but I've got my girl entered in the Western Futurity coming up in April in both field and show. I used to do Junior Showmanship with my very first Brittany, Rusty, but that was 20 years ago. I will be on this board a lot, getting every little piece of advice that I can! I really hope to handle her every step of the way to a DC. She's got her derby and puppy points already, and I am really excited to get her in the show ring! We are enrolled in a confirmation class that I hope will teach us both a thing or two.

I got started showing about 4 years ago. I started with Great Pyrenees, just learning the ropes of showing. Then we moved, and I showed Danes, Setters, Pointers, Bullmastiffs. After another move just last year, I got involved with Britts. Ellie (Elementkennel) recommended I get in touch with a breeder here in Texas that had a pup from her dog Dante. And the rest is history!
My first CH is my first Brittany, Jenna, CH Kountrytyme Mtn Of Fire N Ice. She's had some impressive wins, including a specialty BOW for a 3pt major, several BOBs from the classes, wins over specials, and she finished with a 4pt major on a specialty weekend at the big Houston Reliant shows back in July. Now we are aiming for those juniors wins!

I've been showing for 23 years now. I started out taking obedience classes with the family Brittany, but then I discovered conformation & as they say "the hook was set" Even though I was 13 when I started showing I never did juniors.
My first champion was my first Brittany from show lines (Can Ch Chukar Hill's Touch Of N-Vee CGC) & I'm currently showing Tanner (UKC Ch Valiant's N-Vee'd Venture TT).

I started about twelve years ago in 4-H with my toy poodle, Raven. We kicked butt in 4-H for a few years until I got bored and wanted a new challenge. So I hastily got myself a "show dog".... a Belgian Tervuren and was all rarin' to go. Unfortunately, she was not the best dog to start with as she was extremely shy and not the best structurally. Talk about learning from your mistakes! I was very frustrated with her for several years, even quitting for awhile to show horses, when I lucked into meeting some great people at an agility seminar who provided me with some nice (stable!) dogs to show and a lot of support and advice. Shortly after that I got a whippet to show in juniors. "Burke" was a really nice dog to learn on, very patient and he worshipped the ground I walked on! I got my first BJH's with him. Unfortunately he and my dad didn't get along so I was forced to send him back to the breeder after awhile And then came Dante, my first Britt! I did more winning with him than I ever thought possible, in both breed and juniors. He finished at 13 months with a group placement from the classes. My last year as a junior, I specialed him and did junior showmanship. In 2004, we were the #1 Britt junior in the country, #1 all breeds in ID, qualified for Westminster and Eukanuba, and were also the #12 Brittany in the country with multiple group placements and a BISS the weekend of the summer specialty. I am forever indebted to Dante for getting me where I am in the dog world today. He's an amazing dog. Since him I've shown many more Britts and owned a couple who were great dogs in their own right but can't compare to my special boy :-P Currently, I'm showing my Brittany bitch, "Ivy..." who really has turned out to be more my husband's dog, and my incredibly spoiled Border Collie, "Cedar."

I have been showing for about 8 years but I have 3 titled dogs now so mainly show when there are big shows on or when a group of friends are having a special outing together. Lately I have concentrated more on agility. I never intended to show, I was looking for a Brittany for agility/obedience and someone convinced me to try showing as well and the rest is history. My first show dog was Bella - BISS/RuBISS Aust Champ Wameika Dentelle JDX ADX CD GD SPD S-NGC O-NJC O-NAC TG-N - she was also my first competition obedience and agility dog. She turns 9 in a few weeks. She entered 1 show this year and will retire on a high as she won Runner Up Best In Specialty Show with some huge competiton (just wanted to show her son she still has what it takes as he was Best In Specialty Show last year). I was lucky that there are some lovely people here who have helped me out a lot when I started. The photos are of my 3 dogs, all either BISS or RUBISS. The little boy who handled Tilly to her RU BISS had never shown a dog before that day as he hadn't been old enough. He was 'born in the showring' like Kristyn so his parents had taught him well and he wanted a nice well trained dog to enter the showring with and he was perfect with Tilly. 2008: Bella - BISS/RuBISS Aust Champ Wameika Dentelle JDX ADX CD GD SPD S-NGC O-NJC O-NAC TG-N 2007: Chazer - BISS Ch Rivamist First Offence (Bella's son) 2006: Tilly - RUBISS Ch Riverreed Hearts Nmotion

I have only been showing Brittanys in conformation for about 1 1/2 years. Can Ch. Brio's Buckeye Magic is my first Canadian champion and my first conformation dog. He is out of BISS Triumphant's Absolute JH X Ch. Magic Cinderella Story SH. We have had some wonderful results with more to come I am sure. Redman currently has 6pts (incl his first MAJOR!) towards his AKC Ch.

I am still waiting for my first AKC CH. Showing was put on the back burner due to small children and new business. I lost my 8 year old brittany this summer just one major short of her CH, she was also a BOB winner. Dr Jac's Mortisha CDX SH was her offical name, Mort was also one leg from her MH. I am looking forward to showing her pup Belle in Bred-by when she is more mature. Our male Fester is AKC pointed and an International CH but I have not done much with him lately. I"m hoping to show more next summer inbetween trials.
I love to see all the show pictures and here how everyone is doing in the show ring.

I do. Started a few years ago. Tessa (Hope's Dream Weaver) is an absolute DREAM in the ring. Doug Tighe, her breeder, got her started for me and she absolutely LOVES showing! She has 2 specialty majors, went Best in Eastern Futurity in 2007, and was Best in Sweeps at the 2006 Summer Specialty. She needs 3 singles to finish, but I have dreams of her being a dual....so the show stuff can wait (for now). Then there's Blaze (DC Britt Haven's Blaze of Glory). He much prefers the field to the show ring and has won gun dog, shooting dog and all age stakes, some against more than 30 dogs. He was the North Jersey Brittany Club's Dual Dog of the Year, 2008, and the AKC's #5 Brittany Gun Dog in 2008. He ran at the ABC Gun Dog Nationals last year and did a very nice job, and this year is already qualified for both the Amateur All Age Nationals at Booneville and the Gun Dog Nationals in Ionia (we'll be going to Ionia). Gina Currier was his main show handler, but I'm hoping to special him a bit over the summer.
