I took a seminar about 4 years ago with my female Britt & I just loved it. Unfortunately, nearly 4 hours one way for lessons is just not feasible. Has anyone done tracking with their Britt & do you have any good book recommendations for training on your own? I've got a friend nearby with Weims & we will work together on training & helping each other but she doesn't have any more experience than I do about the actual training part.

I've never done tracking with britts but I am currently training my Border Collie in tracking. I am learning from a friend of mine who is a great tracking trainer; she used to compete in Schutzhund.
Books I recommend:
Tracking: From The Beginning, by Gary Patterson (this one is great and lays out all the steps to train your dog to track through the highest levels, includes lesson plans and stuff too which is great for doing it on your own)
Try Tracking! by Carolyn Krause (this book is more basic but it really great for getting started. it's great for puppies, too.)
Tracking is one of the most fun events there is, in my opinion. And you really have to learn to trust your dog, which is great and definitely will help in other areas of competition.

Thanks for the recommendations. I've had several people recommend the puppy tracking primer so I'm leaning towards that to start with.
