Hey Jimmy....the grounds look like they will do nicely! I'm/(We) from the West as you know where the idea of "grooming" and clubhouse buildings is literally non existent The main objective of course is first having the land to run on. THAT is the first and foremost priority. Once that is secured, then everything else will just have to come along a little at a time. Club houses are nice and it is understood that out here that particular amenity is almost taken for granted anymore but the further West you go the less clubhouses there are <GGG> In order to afford to make this land into the premier grounds of our dreams it is going to take a committment and work from as many bird dog clubs as can be rallied. In the beginning it will probably mean getting a big tent rental company (which is how it is done out West for the big Championships), catering company and Porta Potties as an added expense to the trials that wish run there but it can be done! It will take getting the trials to RUN there in order to get the money to make the improvements needed in the future to come. One step at a time. The first step, which was the hardest was getting the land......and so far , so good, right? Nothing is impossible Brian Wild Mtn Brittanys

Hey there Brian, You're right the land is the most important part of the field trial and many people share your opinion. The issues and improvments in this debate go much deeper than the ameneties. This is reclaimed strip mine ground, the valley's are deep and lined with Rocky irrigation ditches. Unfortunately in this case we have grounds already established with all the amenities at Killdeer. The reason and the way Killdeer is being taken from us is unfounded. WE are being ripped off via political agenda. We don't want to walk away from the table and go pitch a tent. The State and the Feds need to understand we will comply with their needs if they comply with the needs of Field trialers. This could be a bigger issue for other grounds on a federal issue if we quietly walk away and pitch a tent here in Ohio. Especially since Liberals run our government now. Look at this issue like gun control. Liberals will continue to chip away until we don't have the right to bear arms of any type. They will also chip away at our rights to hunt or compete with our animals. I want to be able to go and Field trial as much as anyone else does. I also feel the threat of losing our grounds in Ohio completely, but without the commitment from the state to help with ameneties we actually have no commitment. Tents and porta johns are temporary. The state could change their mind any time and say no more field trials in Ohio, no loss to them. With a financial investment in amenities they may not be so keen to show a loss that would come with a changed policy. The Associated Bird Dog Clubs of Ohio have done a good job with Tony Celebreeze. We need to let them finish the deal. Mr. Celebreeze is really working hard to help us. WE don't hear much from the top but I have Faith that things will work out for all of us. I hope this didn't sound like one of Dennis Miller's political rants.
Thanks for your reply, hope to see you guys soon, Jimmy

Jimmy, Thanks so much for posting these pictures. Several Buckeye Brit club members have been there with the state officials and described the grounds but the pictures really really help!
Hopefully things will go smoothly with the transition from KP to the new grounds. They certainly look like they have alot of potential.
How do they compare to the grounds at Jackson? I saw pictures from Jackson and it looked more barren but those pics were taken in March also. Kristi

So If I'm reading this right Jimmy, The FT people are pushing to have the State build new facilities? Wow....gutsy move!! I can totally see the principle of the whole thing and offer up Kudos to those that are working so hard to get these new grounds secured!!!
Wow.....

Helen, I understand some may think FT people are being to pushy with the state. However in this issue thats not the case. The OABDC is negotiating with the state to replace what we already have. These are very compitent people that have a great relationship with Mr. Celebreeze. This is scary for all field trialers to set back and see what happens, but we will be at Tri-Valley regardless. The question is exactly when?
